Imaging and Managed Care
Situation: Allied Mobile X-Ray (AMX), a South Florida provider of mobile X-Ray
services, identified that it was losing business at long-term
care facilities due to missing managed care contracts.
Challenge: AMX lacked the management
contracting experience in order to obtain the missing managed
care contracts.
Action: Reich Consulting Services (RCS) in association with the The Action
Project, a managed care consulting company, identified unique
service benefits provided by AMX, which differentiated the
quality of their services for the local managed care plans.
The differentiation of AMX’s
services in terms of better quality of care and reduced
likelihood of emergency room visits for X-Rays and the
associated expense and liability of alternatives to AMX
combined with our plan to better communicate these benefits
with the payors improved the awareness of AMX’s capabilities
and made it easier to obtain new contracts.
Results: RCS obtained three new managed care contracts for AMX with Blue Cross
Blue Shield, CarePlus, and Vista Health Plans, which
significantly improved their financial performance at
long-term care facilities.
